Background -

A dataDyne scientist calling himself Dr. Caroll has contacted the Carrington Institute requesting that we rescue him from the dataDyne headquarters tonight. He claims that he has complained to dataDyne about the moral implocations of his current project, but rather than dismiss him, them will mentally restructure him until he finds the nature of the project acceptable again.

DetErest -

A simple level, once you understand what to do. But it is among the longer levels. You must first acticate the maintenance robots, who creep along the floor. The laser grids later on in the level will only open for them to pass on their routine, circular route. You must use your CamSpy to photograph radioactive material, and shut down three experiments. Also, you must obtain the three pieces of experimental technology before reaching Dr. Caroll and completing the level..

 

 

You begin in the elevator. Head to the left, but resist the urge to destroy the small yellow mouse shaped robot that is traveling on the ground. Head around the corner, and take out the waiting guard.

The small robot will reveal a hidden route behind a panel of wood. Follow it. If you don't get in before the door closes, just wait until the bot returns. Head through the passage, around a corner, and you have two routes. One with a ramp heading upwards, the other downwards. Take the one heading down. It's the one furthest one from where you came.

Down the ramp, there is a door. Two guards await in the basement. Behind the guard in this second screenshot, there is a small opening with a computer that you DO NOT want to activate. Stay away. Instead, keep going, and the hall turns left.

After the turn in the hall, two computer terminals are revealed. Activate the furthest one, then the closest one, and the maintenance bots will be reprogrammed. Objective 2: Complete. The bots that are on the floor of that room will leave. Head back where you came from, in the same direction that the bot is travelling.

Head back, and up the ramp. This time when you're at the middle level, take the ramp that heads up. There is a guard straight ahead behind a box. The hall is filled with corners, and one guard behind almost every turn. Be prepared, and don't blindly run around a corner, and you should succeed. Eventually, you'll reach a door.

Open the door, which reveals a big room. Use your CMP150 to take out the guards in the room. Guards from nearby rooms may decide to join in, so be sure it is safe, even after you think you've cleared out all the guards. After that, head out and to the left, to a door on the side. Behind that is another door, which when opened, has two guards behind it.

Behind the guards, is another door. But do not go in. It is highly radioactive. Select the CamSpy from your inventory. It puts you in the eyes of the CamSpy, and you can control where it goes. Head it straight forward, to take a picture of the center of the activity. Press "Z" to take a picture. The picture is acceptable when you get the message Objective 1: Complete.

Head out the series of doors, and back to the big room. Head left, and through the door. A guard may be behind the door if he didn't rush you in the big room. There are guards in the hall, but you can use the pillar to your right as cover. Once the way is clear, head down the hall to your left. A lab technician is in there, working on an experiment. Once you approach him, Joanna's voice will tell him to shut down the level's three experiments.

Head out of that lab, and back to the main hallway, across it, and to the next door, which is on the hall's left. Inside, is a hydraulic lift that heads down. Take it, and you will find a guard testing a weapon beside a lab technician. Sneak up, and shoot the guard, but not the lab technician. Grab the fallen guard's weapon, which is a K7 Avenger, and the first experimental item you need to obtain.

Head out the door, and to the left. Take the next path to the right. Two guards wait there. Past them, is a door, and another lab. There is a glass column, concealing an experimental item. Don't let a bit of glass fool you, just destroy it with any weapon, and grab the night vision goggles on the pedestal for experimental item two.

Exit that lab, and head to the right. Two guards will be waiting at the "T" in the hallway. Dispose of them, and head left. Open the lab door, and kill the two guards who greet you. Another lab technician is working on an experiment. Joanna will instruct him to shut it down. Next, find another door in that lab, not the one you entered from, and it will reveal another lab.

Switch to unarmed. "Who the hell are you?" the lab technician snaps at you. Once you instruct him to shut down the experiment, he will head for the alarm computer. Chase him until the computer he stops at. Punch him. This is the alarm computer. Activate all the rest, until you find the right one. Objective 3: Complete The computers are never the same. Doing this small test by watching where the scientist goes saves the alarm from going off. Head out of that lab, into the first lab, and back to the hallway. Head straight out, and through a set of doors, into a curved room with guards. Take them all out.

Once they're all taken care of, you can proceed. You will reach a series of laser grids. You cannot pass through them, and you will only lose health trying. Wait for the cleaning bot that moves along the ground to come. Wait until he is heading in the same direction as you are, and the grids temporarily deactivate for it to pass. This is when you may head through. Ahead, is another small room with guards.

Next, is a big room with guards. Take them all out. Have a look for a table in the middle of the room. Two CMP150s are just lying there for grabs. Head through the door at the opposite end of the room. Ahead, is a room with a computer on a table. Peek in the alert the guards, then back up, and to the side to take them out.

Select the Data Uplink from your inventory, and use it on the computer. As soon as it activates, put it away, and arm yourself with a weapon. Two guards will rush you from behind, and you want to be prepared. Once that inconvenience is eliminated, use the Data Uplink again, and let it finish this time. The door ahead will now be unlocked.

Through a few doors, and around a corner, is another big room. You may choose to use a weapon with a scope, like the Dragon, or the K7 Avenger, to pick off the guards easier. Guards can be out of sight at the edges of the room, so be careful. Enter the room and find a door on the left. Enter it, and take care of the three heavily armed guards in that hall.

Proceed to the end of the hall, and the wall opens up. There is a shield on the table. It's the third and final experimental item Pick it up, and Objective 4: Complete. Next, head back to the big room, and to the left. There is a small glass wall. You can open the door from here. Open it, and head along the glass wall. Use your K7 Avenger to knock off the Auto Guns looming ahead on the ceiling. You'll get one from here, then approach the door directly. Open it, and jump well back to knock out the second one.

No more Auto Guns! Don't be fooled. There is one behind this arch that will nail you in the back when you pass under it. Creep up behind it, and knock it out when you can just see it's barrel. NOW you can head forward. There is a door at the end of the hall, and you'll meet Dr. Caroll. Objective 5: Complete.
