  Combat Simulator Rankings

The Multiplayer mode keeps track of your records and statistics.

Saved directly on your game file, or on a Controller Pak.

Stats include accuracy, shots fired, damage dealt, medals earned, and a title, which determines a ranking.

Each rank has a number and a title. Every player begins at 21, with the title of "Beginner".

A top agent can attain the rank of "Perfect".

Below is the complete list:

  Rank List

21: Beginner

18: Rookie
17: Novice

12: Expert
11: Veteran

10: Professional
9: Dangerous
8: Deadly
7: Killer

1: Perfect

So precisely when does your rank move up? It's actually a very simple calculation, that I'm sure took intense thought to figure it out.
SubDrag of the former dataDynehq has come up with the solution - It works as a system of points.

As SubDrag figured out, there are ten crucial values that affect your title. Each of those vital statistics is worth up to ten points (or steps) and once you pass the upper threshold of a particular statistic, you will no longer receive any more "points" in that department.

The ten crucial statistics and their required numbers:

  "Perfect" Stats

Kills

18,000

Damage Dealt

180,000 (180K)

Ammo Used

450,000 (450K)

Distance

9000 km

Time

12:12:00 (12.5 days)

Games Won

900

Accuracy Medals

900

HeadShot Medals

900

KillMaster Medals

900

Survivor Medals

900

To achieve the "Perfect" title, you must rack up all of those required numbers. Going above and beyond 18,000 kills will not hurt your statistics, but 18,000 kills is the number at which you can no longer gain points for scoring kills.

So how does any person with a life manage to become Perfect? Some of the statistics are impossibly high, and it would take years to become "Perfect". But there are three simple things that you can do to "cheat" your way to the Perfect Ranking, without having to commit a dozen days of playing time, and earning all those kills, distance, and ammo used.

1: To Gain Kills, Damage Dealt, and possibly Distance and Time:

The Remote Mines/Capture the Briefcase in the Felicity against 8 simulants glitch. (see Tricks section. Once you set off the chain reaction of blowing up the mines, you can just head to the room to the right of the bathroom stairs, close the door, and offset the joystick by pressing L & R & Start, which will make the controller's neutral position be off center, so your player will be running around in circles. Leave the game, and system, and come back later, when you've gotten plenty of kills.

2: To Earn Medals

A cheap, and boring process - But it is the simplest way to earn masses of much needed medals. Play a two player game in any level where you can get quick access to weapons (I prefer Felicity), set all weapons to be FarSights, and have the second player be controlled by no one. Start the game, use the FarSight's target locator to nail your opponent in the head, and exit. You'll get all four medals for this, and it only takes six seconds. This is only to be done when you're bored, as it is no fun. It's best to use Elvis' head on your second player, so it's easier to hit.

3: Ammo Used (Auto Controller Needed!), Time, and Distance
Auto controller: Allows you to set a button to 'Auto', and have it repeat when held, such as the SharkPad by InterAct.

You might as well kill three birds with one stone here. I just play in the Felicity with Cyclones. I shoot four ammo crates from the nearby hall, into the room to the right of the bathroom stairs. Once in the room, I shoot the boxes against the wall. I then set the controller's neutral position off center with L & R & Start, and leave it go, so my character runs around in endless circles. I then use an auto controller (SharkPad, MakoPad), set the double Cyclone's function on magazine discharge, set the Z Button to auto, and set down the controller so the Z button stays being held, and head off for a brief nights sleep. Sure, this is just plain laziness, but it builds up your ammo used, your time, and your distance. You'll be walking around the room, picking up fresh ammo for your Cyclones, so you'll never run out. I've left it for an entire night, and still not reached the required amount of ammo used, which is 450,000. Imagine how long it would take to use that many bullets while playing "honestly". Also, use the Fast Motion option with this. It will speed you up, and allow you to cover more distance.

The Distance and Time statistics seem impossibly high.. But to needed to fulfill the requirements needed for just those two, an astounding 9000 km distance traveled is needed. With that, you could travel all the way across North America.
And time: Twelve and a half days playing time is needed to become Perfect.
But I suppose if anyone really has put in twelve and a half solid days deserves to be ranked as "Perfect", as that's a total of 300 hours!
That's why I simply resorted to leaving my N64 on, and have my character run round, and round, and round for a few nights in a row.

After achieving Perfect, you are rewarded with absolutely nothing, other than bragging rights.
The infamous "Username and Password" will also appear.
